Global payments in 2020 were still a mess. A cross-border transfer to Southeast Asia took 3–5 business days, cost 3–5% in fees, and provided zero visibility until the money arrived — or didn’t.
Stablecoins changed the equation. USDC settled in seconds, at near-zero cost, with a public audit trail. But the last mile — getting that value into a local bank account in Lagos, Manila, or São Paulo — was still broken.
